According to a report published by the “Citna” news agency, a new hacking group called “Sarbedaran” which has been linked to the Mujahedin al Khalq (MEK), announced on it’s Telegram channel that it had infiltrated the systems of the Islamic Azad University, Khajeh Nasir al-Din Toosi University of Technology, Tarbiat Modares University, and the University of Esfahan. The group claims to have stolen information from these institutions and defaced their websites. Currently, access to these systems inside Iran has been cut off.
During the attack, “Vadana”, an online learning platform used by the Islamic Azad University, was also targeted. An image was posted on the Vadana platform attributing the cyberattack to the Sarbedaran group.

However, these claims have not yet been officially confirmed by the organization and the extent of the damage to these organizations remains unclear.
